Heros in Fidelis Foundation, translated from Latin to English means “the Hero of the Faithful.” Our Heroes are those who have given so much to the Catholic community. Our Heroes are the priests, who have dedicated the past 40 years +/- of their lives to us, These individuals have been with us every step of the way to guide us in becoming better individuals and have been with us every step of the way to guide us into becoming the Catholics we are today. And we are grateful for their sacrifices.
Our retired priests have been there to baptize us, confirm us, they have been mentors and teachers to guide us to become better Catholics. They have heard our confessions, our joys, our fears and our tears. Our heroes have directed our moral compass, they have married us and buried us.
Now these individuals are joining the ranks of the retired in large numbers. Some of these individuals will not retire well; some have happily worked for low wages through the years to enable the growth of the church and community. Because of these lower wages, social security will only pay an estimated $600.00 per month. Many Dioceses are there to assist in the care of the retired, some cannot.
The Venerable Father Michael J McGivney, Founder of the Knights of Columbus. From Father McGivney’s own experience, he recognized the devastating effect on the family after a wage earner passes away. He believed in caring for the family, it is from Father McGivney’s own dream, as to why we work so diligent to include them into the Catholic family, our seminarians, priest active or retired and so many more that have given us a Catholic upbringing. And we also grateful for that.
Heros in Fidelis Foundation was created to become a lay Catholic organization that will fill in gaps that retirement cannot fill.
The organization is being managed by members of “Heros in Fidelis Foundation corporation, a non-profit, 501 (c3). We are also blessed by having members of the Knights of Columbus and, the Lay catholic community.
Catholic Flowers.org is a nonprofit division of “Heros in Fidelis Foundation” Corp. Catholic Flowers operates an online full-service florist. Our designs are uniquely Catholic, all 5-star arrangements, and can be delivered to the home, office, church, and all other venues, including funerals. Every flower purchase creates a donation that will go to fund the Heros in Fidelis Foundation. Catholic Flowers will now be able to serve the Catholic population in the United states and Puerto Rico, the proceeds will go toward assisting our Seminarians, (The ANGEL award) our active priests (Meal for the Masses) and of course our beloved retired (Priest in Need grant), to whom we owe so much.
Our Goal is to be able to earn a portion of annual needs by using business platforms to raise donations. We believe in this mission and are willing to do our part in creating revenue to assist our retired priests ,as well as the active priests and seminarians.
We welcome all other ministries, together we can create a solution for this retirement dilemma. these retired priests deserve our attention, they should not fall under the “out of sight, out of mind” category. They deserve dignity. By showing others that Catholics can take care of our own, we set an example for our Seminarians. They too shall be cared for in their retirement years. We will also work together to seek a solution to the retirement dilemma beginning with our seminarians. Our goal to be able to expand the Angel award program. The Angel award provides a retirement start for our seminarians, so they may avoid the retirement pitfalls that our current priests are experiencing.
Please consider a donation today, so we can ensure that the religious circle of care remains unbroken.
